1. Install & Launch the App
Mac
2Double-click the .dmg to mount it, then drag EmailCleanerApp into your Applications folder.
3Right-click (Control-click) the app in Applications → Open → Open in the confirmation dialog. This one-time step is required for apps not yet notarized by Apple.
4The app launches and shows the activation screen.

2. Connect Your Email Account
Gmail (Google OAuth)
1On the app home screen, click Connect Gmail.
2Your browser opens a Google sign-in page — sign in and grant the requested permissions.
3Return to the app — your Gmail account is connected and ready to scan.

Yahoo Mail (App Password)
1Log in to Yahoo Account Security and generate a new App Password labelled "EarthyMix".
2In the app, select Connect Yahoo and enter your Yahoo email address plus the App Password.
3The App Password is stored securely on your device only — it is never sent to EarthyMix.

🔒 Your credentials stay on your device. EarthyMix never stores or transmits your email password or OAuth tokens.
3. Set Up Filters
Filters tell the app which emails to find. You can stack multiple filters — only emails matching all active filters will be included.
Available filter types
- Older than — emails before a specific date or time period
- Larger than — emails above a size threshold (e.g. 5 MB)
- From sender — emails from a specific address or domain
- Subject contains — emails with a keyword in the subject line
- Has attachment — emails with any attachment
- Label / folder — emails in a specific Gmail label or folder

💡 Tip: Start conservative — e.g. older than 2 years AND larger than 2 MB — then widen once you are comfortable with the results.
4. Scan Your Inbox
1After configuring filters, click Scan. The app searches your inbox and lists matching emails.
2The results screen shows a count of matching emails and an estimated total size.
3Browse the list to confirm results look correct before proceeding to delete.

5. Review & Delete Emails
⚠️ Important: Deletion is permanent. Emails are downloaded to your device as they are deleted. Make sure your download folder has enough free space before starting.
1Review the scan results. Uncheck any emails you want to keep.
2Confirm your download folder path — backups will be saved here.
3Click Delete & Download. A confirmation dialog summarises what will be deleted.
4Confirm. The app deletes each email and simultaneously saves a local copy.
5A completion screen shows emails deleted and total storage freed.

📥 Your backups are saved as .eml files and can be opened with any email client (Apple Mail, Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.).
6. Activate Your License
Your license key is shown on your Download page and emailed to you after purchase (format: EMX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).
1Launch the app. On the activation screen, paste your license key.
2Click Activate. The app verifies the key with the EarthyMix server.
3Once verified, the app is fully unlocked.

🔐 2-device limit. Your license activates on up to 2 devices. To transfer to a new device, contact
support@earthymix.com.
Lost your license key?
Go to the Download page, enter the email address used at purchase, and your key and a fresh download link will be shown.
7. FAQ
Can I recover deleted emails?
Emails are backed up to your device as they are deleted. Google may also keep them in Gmail Trash for up to 30 days. EarthyMix does not provide server-side recovery.
Does the app work offline?
No. An internet connection is required to access your Gmail or Yahoo account.
Is my email content seen by EarthyMix?
No. Email data flows directly between the app and your email provider. EarthyMix servers never receive your email content.
What happens if my download folder runs out of space?
The app checks available disk space before starting and warns you if it is insufficient.
Why does macOS show a security warning?
The app is not yet Apple-notarized. Use right-click → Open as described in Section 1. A notarized version is coming soon.
